Accessibility

Designed for clear, practical operation.

SafeSignal aims to remain usable with keyboard, touch, screen-reader, zoom and reduced-motion settings. This is a statement of current design intent and tested behavior, not a certification claim.

Last updated: 21 August 2026

Current support

  • Semantic page landmarks and a skip link
  • Visible keyboard focus and keyboard-operable navigation, forms, accordions and controls
  • Form labels, descriptions and inline validation messages
  • Text and non-color labels for session and worker status
  • Screen-reader announcements for major timer-state changes, without announcing every second
  • Reduced-motion support and touch targets designed around a 44-pixel minimum
  • Responsive layouts intended to avoid horizontal scrolling and hidden controls

Known limitations

Browser permission dialogs, notifications, vibration, GPS messages, download behavior, and date formatting are controlled partly by the device and browser. Very long translated text and unusual browser extensions may affect layout. The prototype has not been independently audited or certified for a formal accessibility conformance level.

Safety-critical use

If an accessibility need makes a check-in control difficult to operate or understand, do not rely on the tool for that task. Use an agreed alternative contact method and tell the responsible supervisor.

SafeSignal

A timed lone-worker check-in that stores session records on this device. It is not emergency dispatch or a monitored service.
